I'm Still a Starbucks Card Collector. Ish.

With people around the world celebrating Halloween, we don't. At least us Muslims here in Malaysia. Oktoberfest? Even more. Why? Because there are other festivals we can actually celebrate together among friends and family without having superstitions, alcohol drinks, etc. Most of the time, I don't really need an occasion to go and have fun. Watched 3 movies in a row at the cinema to kill time while waiting for them was fun. 

Oh, about the Starbucks card above? Yes, I do collect them since 2011 but I think this is the year I've collected them less than previous years as I haven't been to the mall as much as I want to; I missed the Mooncake festivals at Starbucks for God's sake! I never missed them before but I've been busy at the hospital and even today I've just grabbed my favourite beverage, Matcha Soy Frappucino to go as I need to be at the ward by 8 p.m. 

I've been wanting to take photos of the cards that I've collected for quite some. Maybe I will. When all of this is over.

The Rain in My Heart

As I was told, it seems that this is going to be my view for another 2 weeks. Great. 

It's not that I'm complaining but as I've always known, 4 weeks should be enough for any two people to break down their walls and start to get to each other's nerve. 

That's what's happening to me and I'm being driven out of my patience honestly. 

All I get is thanks from the person I need the most right now and not even a single explanation nor solution for me to get out of this whole situation. 

Dear God, are you sure this test is meant for me?

For the past 2 years and a half, all I know is work-home-blogging-social media and little things in between. Ignoring my relationship with my parents as they're too occupied with their own careers and overseas travel, a younger sibling who only care so much about his cars, motorcycles, friends and cat. Our family cat. I don't blame any of them and all I want especially for the past 6 months is how we keep things in order so our laundry schedules won't clash, separate TV times, etc.

Then few months ago, all of these so-called balanced lives that we have was erupted by a certain human being with strings attached to all of us hence began a new routine; work and attending to the human with social media endeavors in between. Oh, let's not forget the part where I suffer uncomfortable nights due to sleeping arrangements, cold temperature and incessant cries at night. 

Coming home during the weekend was excruciatingly awful with dirty dishes at the sink, mountains of dirty clothes, dusts all over the living area, dining table filled with paperwork, emptied shower cream bottles and unfinished takeouts crammed to the walls of the fridge. Frustration and exhaustion took over my mind and body, driving me to the edge of sanity. 

But all they see is a calmed and composed character braving into the uncertainty as I attend the reluctant human being who always brags about his attentive, sympathetic, other side of family. Fake happy stories are being preferred compared to real complaints on keeping my job and place in order, well-being and declination of my social media engagement; one of my source of income as a blogger.

What do I do? Why am I here? Who do I turn to? When can I be free? Where can I go? How can I leave?

Passion

I’ve been blogging on Blogger for almost 10 years; Friendster and Wordpress prior 2008 and it’s the first time for me to actually meet a fellow blogger who have the same passion as mine as we blog about pretty much similar things (such a plus that the person is also BTS’s ARMY too!) and our short 2 hours meet up was filled with things like what we want to focus on for contents, laying out rough ideas about how do we translate our blog contents into much simpler, summary-like Instagram posts and some important things like where do we stand on paid reviews and buying social media followers. Also, how do we convey negative reviews without pressing too much on the matter or our personal preference.

I have to admit that this is rather refreshing as throughout my whole blogging journey, I’ve never discuss about the related topics and issues with other people in real life and solely focus on creating contents on my own and post whenever wherever I can. It’s kind of nice to know some new ways to approach certain topics like deciding on whether to review products individually or coming up with summary of grouped similar items which in my case, sheet masks. 

When I came back after the meet up, I feel so much better as I’ve been stuck with having the idea to continue the way things already are on my Instagram feed (I haven’t posted for 2 weeks) but now I want to do some other things first before deciding on that. At this point, let’s just hope for the best and I’m praying hard that I’ll be out of this hiatus as soon as possible.

Fantasy Lighting Festival at Oceanus Waterfront, Kota Kinabalu

About two weeks ago, my brother took me and my mom to this festival where we got to see lighting festival here at Oceanus Shopping Mall, Kota Kinabalu. Surely there were lots more attractions at the festival like the lighting tunnel, flowers and of course the full moon setup but what caught my attention the most is the above white wings. 

If only I have mad Photoshop skill to edit out the frame at the back.
